Discover the beauty of the island of Taquile!
Lake Titicaca is a wonder of nature, similar to a sea at 4000 meters high, with enchanting mountains and islands. Taquile is an island with a height of 140 meters above the lake level, 36 km from the port of Puno (2h30 to 3 hours by boat), with a microclimate very favorable to agriculture and with incomparable landscapes. Its friendly inhabitants, dedicated to agriculture and fishing, are great sailors and maintain their ancestral culture, which generates a very exotic and unique atmosphere for the tourists who visit them. Spending a day hiking in a place where there is no motorized vehicle (it takes an hour of walking to get to the town), and living a full consciousness experience with a spectacular natural environment, is what our tour aims to offer you. You will love seeing the beaches of Collota and Huayllano, climbing hills with the most beautiful views, visiting pre-Inca archaeological sites or visiting the artisan market in the Plaza de Armas. PUNO is a magical place for its spectacular landscapes and its archaeological sites wrapped in multiple stories and legends. The mythical and the supernatural fly over the plateau like an invisible condor. The beauty of nature and legends come together in the Umayo Lagoon (34 km from the City of Puno) and the Sillustani tombs of the Kolla culture (13th-15th centuries) to give free rein to our imagination. Near the funerary tower or chullpa del lagarto, the royal trousseau of a nobleman was found with more than 500 pieces of gold, these pieces are exhibited in the Carlos Dreyer museum in the city of Puno. The Umayo lagoon has a central island, of a mystical character for the nearby inhabitants. After visiting the funerary temples, we descend to the port to board the rowing boats of the local inhabitant and begin the journey over the unique lake surrounding the peninsula to the island on which species of mammals such as vicuñas, deer, guanacos , andean goose and partridges have been located.
